Remedial and surgical farriery, planned with your vet
For horses with lameness, hoof or performance problems where the foot is part of the answer. Based at Bunny Hill, Costock, near Loughborough, working across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Further afield is considered case by case.

What I do
Remedial and surgical shoeing
Collapsed or underrun heels, caudal heel pain, laminitis support, hoof wall problems and limb deformities in foals and adults, using bar shoes, fabricated shoes, pads and therapeutic plastic shoes.
Second opinions and consultancy
A fresh look at a horse that isn't progressing. I can work alongside your current farrier and share my findings with your vet.
Everyday shoeing and trimming
Routine care for horses of all levels, shod to the same standard, in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
How I work
Every horse is assessed first, and you receive a written plan before work starts. I use measurement where it helps: Hoofbeat sensors record how each hoof moves, Sleip analyses gait asymmetry from video, calibrated Metron photographs track changes in the hoof over time, and Consteed hoof boots with built-in force plates show how the foot is loaded. The aim is a shoeing plan based on evidence that your vet can review.
I work with your vet and your horse's regular farrier, never in place of them. See how I work with vets and other professionals, or read how remedial work is quoted.
At the forge and in the field

Recent cases
- Pedal bone rotation in all four feet: heart bar fronts and rockered, padded hinds, working with the referring vet.
- Retracted sole in a box-rest horse: keeping a barefoot goal with interim protection.
- Radiograph review of a large horse: planning breakover and support with the vet.
- Trimming to radiographs: squish pads, a shorter trim cycle and modifiable boots.
For the thinking behind this work, read remedial shoeing for pedal bone rotation.
